Now a days many vertical and high speed polishers of different makes are there in the market but the most suitable technique for long Grain Vanities is only the cone polisher's Slow speed Polishing system with minimal pressure.

After paddy separation, the brown rice is fed into polishers for removal of outer bran layer. An abrasion process does the polishing. Generally two, three or four polishers (may or may not be of same size) in series are there in process. The number & size of polishers used are determined for the kind and variety of the brown rice. The polishing cone consists of a dynamically and carefully balanced, single piece C.I. cone covered with Ready-made Cone or re-coatable abrasive Emery or Silicon Carbide. This cone resvolves in a teak wood frame fitted with wire mesh or perforated sheet. Rubber brakes are fitted in a frame to divide the frame into equal segments. These polishers are good for the soft and delicate varities and mills where broken matters more than production.

Now a days readymade Cone is in practice that gives long life and lesser brokens.
